Enter the Dumb Friends League Centennial Poster Contest

The Dumb Friends League is celebrating its 100th anniversary on September 8. As part of the celebration, we are holding a poster contest which is open to children aged 16 and under.

First place winners will receive a Dumb Friends League Centennial shirt, a professionally printed copy of their poster and an art kit. Second place winners will receive a Dumb Friends League Centennial shirt and a professionally printed copy of their poster. Contest Guidelines.

The Junior Volunteer Club introduces young people to the benefits of volunteering in an animal shelter.

Junior volunteers must be between ages 12 and 15, dependable and responsible, have good communication skills, be willing to take on a variety of tasks and have an enthusiasm for working with people and animals.

Volunteers will work alongside adult volunteers for two hours each month, cleaning animal enclosures, socializing and working with dogs, cats and small mammals.They will meet one Saturday each month from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. volunteering

There is a $100 fee to join which is due at time of registration. The fee covers a one-year membership in the club.

Caring teens

Do you care about animals and their welfare? Do you want to learn about volunteer and career possibilities, working with animals? Then this is the site for you! We encourage you to get involved and educate yourself so you can be an advocate for animals. Pets depend on us to protect and help them and you can be a positive force for change in your community.

As a local, independent organization, we rely on individual donations, not support from government agencies or national animal welfare groups, to protect lost and abandoned and mistreated pets in our community.
