Where our money comes from
Adoptions, pet supplies, program fees and investments supplement our income, but we rely primarily on the support of our Colorado community through donations to sustain the mission of the Dumb Friends League. Donor support makes it possible for us to provide critical services and programs, and to offer the adoption of homeless pets to patrons at a cost substantially less than what it takes to care for our animals.
Fiscal Year 2014 income: $15,268,000*
Where your money goes
Eighty-one cents of every dollar donors give goes to animal care, education and outreach in the metro Denver area. Through donations, we provide loving care for the pets that come to our shelters. We offer a safe haven for pets that are lost from home. We rehabilitate pets with medical or behavioral issues to help them become adoption-ready. We provide spay/neuter services at reduced fees, subsidized by Dumb Friends League donors, to reduce pet overpopulation and save lives. We investigate situations involving animal cruelty and neglect, and provide many other services that help save the lives and help people who have no place else to turn. Learn more about what we offer by reviewing our services and education programs, and by visiting our facilities, and explore our giving clubs to see the benefits of giving to our organization.
