The Dumb Friends League has a history of service. For more than 100 years, we have sheltered and cared for lost, abandoned and abused pets.

Thanks to wide community support, we offer programs that help both pets and people.

We are proud to be the metro-Denver area’s local humane society. You are invited to visit our website and our two shelters to learn more about us.

Equines available for adoption

We offer a variety of horses for adoption. Many are sound, high-quality animals that are suitable for work or pleasure. All of our horses receive expert training—from ground work to under saddle—before they are approved for adoption.

Our trainers are well-known professionals who use only natural horsemanship methods.

Our programs are custom designed to fit each horse’s needs and abilities. Training may last from a few days to several months.

All of our horses are current on vaccinations, worming, dental and farrier work.

Interested in adopting? You are welcome to visit the equine center on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (except for major holidays). The center is open all other days by appointment only.

In advance of your visit, please read about our adoption process and complete our equine adoption application.
