The Dumb Friends League has a history of service. For more than 100 years, we have sheltered and cared for lost, abandoned and abused pets.

Thanks to wide community support, we offer programs that help both pets and people.

We are proud to be the metro-Denver area’s local humane society. You are invited to visit our website and our two shelters to learn more about us.

Petco Partnership

We have a partnership with select Petco stores in the Denver metro area to show off some of our fabulous cats looking for loving homes. You can find Dumb Friends League cats available for adoption at these locations:

  • 7400 E. Hampden Ave. (in Tiffany Plaza), Denver
  • 4100 E. Mexico Ave. (at Colorado Blvd.), Denver
  • 9425 E. County Line Rd. (Park Meadows), Englewood
  • 24101 E. Orchard Road (at Southlands), Aurora
  • 7460 S. University Blvd., Littleton
  • 6735 W. 88th Ave., Westminster

Our cats available for adoption at Petco stores are spayed or neutered, have a microchip ID implant, and have received their initial vaccinations. Adoption fees for these cats are the same as at our shelters.

Pet Care-avan

Our Pet Care-avan travels to locations throughout the metro Denver area and Douglas County, bringing wonderful cats, dogs, rabbits and other small pets for adoption to people who may not be able to visit our shelters.

You’ll find us at hundreds of venues each year, including shopping centers, grocery stores, book stores, parades, festivals and athletic events.

If you have a soft spot for pets that need a second chance and you have a business or are planning a community event, consider inviting the Pet Care-avan.

We can visit a location for a few hours or stay all day. We can come back on a monthly basis. All that’s needed is a high visibility parking spot where we can open the doors for people who want to  meet the animals, learn about responsible pet ownership and potentially take home a new friend. The 27-foot-long, fully insured vehicle is completely self-contained.

For more information on the Pet Care-avan, please call Tracy Koss at (720) 241-7088, or e-mail tkoss@ddfl.org.
