Chris Orzechowski, Vice President of Marketing & Communications

Raised among a menagerie of dogs, cats, rabbits, birds and a horse, Chris comes from a long line of animal lovers, including an aunt who owned pet stores and a grandfather who was also in the pet business and supplied food to such shops. In her role as vice president of marketing and communications, Chris brings more than 20 years of experience in branding, marketing and communications to the League, along with a proven track record for helping build brands that have driven awareness and dollars for some of our nation’s largest nonprofit organizations.

Chris oversees a team that creates and implements marketing communications designed to increase awareness of and support for the League’s programs and services. Her team also includes humane educators who bring messages of respect, compassion and proper care for animals to children and adults.

As a senior-level marketing professional, Chris has held leadership roles with the American Heart Association, led the marketing and communications teams that rebranded the headquarters of Susan G. Komen for the Cure and Mothers Against Drunk Driving , and most recently was chief marketing officer for Morris Animal Foundation in Denver.

Chris holds a bachelor’s degree in advertising and a minor in marketing from the University of North Texas, and an MLA from Southern Methodist University. She shares her home with Sam, a Canaan rescue dog.
