Create a legacy
The Dr. Mary E. Bates Founders Society honors individuals who have included the Dumb Friends League in their estate planning. In the last fiscal year, 20 new members have become a part of this special group of League supporters. Members join Dr. Mary E. Bates, founder of the League, in creating a legacy that will last for generations and create a better future for unwanted and forsaken pets. We hope you'll be a Founders Society member by naming the Dumb Friends League as a beneficiary in your will, living trust, life insurance policy, pension plan or charitable trust. For more information, please call (303) 751-5772, Ext. 7083.

Celebrate your love for animals
You can celebrate your love for animals, honor a much loved pet, and help the homeless pets in your community all at the same time, by purchasing a commemorative tile. Your tile can be place on the Buddy wall at our Buddy Center in Castle Rock or on the Promise Wall at our Quebec Street shelter in Denver.

Electronically transferred donations welcome
Did you know that you can make a monetary contribution to the League through electronic funds transferring? Each month, a designated amount can be transferred from your checking or savings account to provide food and veterinary care for the pets at our shelters. Please call us for more information about this at (303) 751-5772, Ext. 7225.

Donate your vehicle
donate car
A car donation is one of the simplest ways to make a gift to the Dumb Friends League and help all the animals in our care.

Cars, trucks, motorcycles and recreational vehicles are gladly accepted. Colorado State law requires that you have the title of the car. The IRS permits you to take a charitable tax deduction on your federal income tax return for the gross sale of your vehicle. If the gross sale of the vehicle is greater than $500, the IRS will expect you to fill out Form 8283, "Non-cash Charitable Contributions." For more information, please contact our annual gifts manager (303) 751-5772, Ext. 7223.

How you & your company can help
Workplace giving
If you work for a city, county or federal agency and participate in the Combined Federal Campaign, Colorado Combined Campaign or Denver Employees Combined Campaign, the Dumb Friends League can receive your designated dollars. Check with your human resources office to find out if your agency is participating.

Matching gifts
If your employer has a matching gift program, your donation could double or even triple in value! By checking to see if your company matches donations to the Denver Dumb Friends League, you can increase the support to thousands of animals cared for by the League each year!

Two easy steps...
1. Obtain a matching gift form from your company's Personnel Department. Some companies will even match gifts made by spouses and retired personnel.

2. Send the completed form to the Denver Dumb Friends League, Development Department, 2080 South Quebec Street, Denver, CO 80231.

If your employer doesn't currently participate in a matching gift program, you may be able to encourage your company to enroll and join our efforts to help the abandoned animals in our community. For further information, please contact our Annual Gifts Manager at (303) 751-5772, Ext. 7223.
