The Dumb Friends League has a history of service. For more than 100 years, we have sheltered and cared for lost, abandoned and abused pets.

Thanks to wide community support, we offer programs that help both pets and people.

We are proud to be the metro-Denver area’s local humane society. You are invited to visit our website and our two shelters to learn more about us.

Eating Disorders

Dogs and cats will sometimes eat socks, rocks or other objects, which may result in a variety of problems for both you and your pet.

Dogs may display a variety of behaviors when they are afraid. A frightened dog may try to escape, may show submissive behaviors, or he may freeze and remain immobile.

We are able to assist pet owners with many types of problems; however, there are some we can’t resolve by e-mail or phone.

Does your dog: Get on the furniture and refuse to get off? Nudge your hand, insisting on being petted or played with? Refuse to come when called? Defend its food bowl or toys from you? “Nothing in life is free” can help.
