Furry Scurry

Furry Scurry Raises $412,000+ for League!

The "Furry ScurryÒ," our two-mile walk and fun run on May 6, raised more than $412,000 for our programs that help both animals and people! Thanks to the participation of 6,600 animal lovers and our generous sponsors, the Seventh Annual Furry Scurry was our most successful one yet!! Held at Washington Park, the event was presented by PedigreeÒ Food for Dogs and also sponsored by Petstore.com, WhiskasÒ Food for Cats, Uncle Ben'sÒ, The Denver Post, KYGO 98.5 FM, 9NEWS, Volvo, Frontier Airlines and The Animal Planet.

Most walkers and runners brought their dogs, or participated in honor of their favorite pets. It was a "paws"-itively beautiful morning that was "doggone" fun for everyone!

As many as 50 companies featuring pet-related and animal specialty items were also there for participants to enjoy. In fact, a portion of their sales from that morning were donated to the Denver Dumb Friends League.

Furry Scurriers enjoyed free refreshments, too, thanks to the kindness of Hops Restaurant, Bar & Brewery; Einstein Bros. Bagels; Jamba Juice; Pepsi; Starbucks; and El Dorado Water.

Much appreciation goes to every company that contributed to the Furry Scurry and to participants who collected pledges. Additional thanks go to these companies for serving as registration sites: Aveda/Hands Entrust, Inc. at Cherry Creek Shopping Center and Park Meadows Mall; Boulder Running Company, Colorado Petfitters; Cosmo's Dog Biscuit Bakery; Laund-ur-Mutt; Runners Roost; Runners Choice; Pet Outfitters; The Whole Cat; and 6th Avenue Pet Supply.
