Please bring the pet to one of our shelters right away so that we can begin working to get the animal home. Click here for locations and hours.
When you arrive with the pet, please enter through the doors marked Pet Intake. We’ll ask you some questions about where and when the animal was found. We will also ask for a donation to help cover costs of caring for the animal.
If the League is closed and you found a pet that you are not able to care for until the morning, we have after-hours kennels at both our shelters. The animal will be safe and warm until we arrive in the morning. Please be sure to fill out the information on the form on the outside of the kennel and leave a donation to help us care for the animal.
If you'd like to care for the pet yourself, call the League at (303) 751-5772 and leave a "home report" with a customer service representative in case the pet's owner contacts us. You can also visit your veterinarian to have the animal scanned for a microchip ID and identify the breed, sex and age.
We are a private nonprofit organization. We spend an average of $300 on every animal adopted, over and above the fee paid by the patron. If you would like to help us, you can click here to make a secure online donation or print out a donation form and mail or fax it to us.
The Dumb Friends League respects the privacy of its donors. We do not sell or exchange any individual donor information. For details on our privacy policy, click here.
