friendship circle

The Friendship Circle was formed in 1986 to recognize the people who, through their generous financial support, are special friends of the animals in our care.

Our goals
To recognize donors who are active in their support of the Dumb Friends League's efforts to improve the welfare of companion animals.

  • To share with them our plans and aspirations.
  • To establish an exemplary pattern of annual giving.
  • To create increased interest in the welfare of animals among other potential donors.

The Dumb Friends League helps as many as 25,000 homeless pets every year. We bring valuable services to people and animals in our community, including humane education, animal welfare investigations, low-cost spay/neuter surgeries and more.
We are a private, nonprofit organization supported primarily by contributions from people like you.

friscoHelping the animals
Through their gifts, members of our gift clubs are helping us:

  • Shelter and care for tens of thousands of lost and unwanted pets each year
  • Provide veterinary treatment and foster care for animals who are hurt or sick
  • Spay or neuter every adopted animal, preventing them from contributing to the pet over- population problem
  • Deliver humane education programs that promote respect for animals and responsible pet care
  • Provide behavior and traning assistance to pet owners
  • Investigate and prosecute persons involved in animal neglect or cruelty,
  • Reach our goal of 100 percent placement of adoptable pets by the year 2005.

How to give
Gifts may be restricted to certain programs; for example, to veterinary care or adoptions. Unrestricted gifts are used where the need is greatest.

Here are some ways you can contribute

  • Cash or checks may be brought or sent to the Quebec Shelter.

  • Gifts via credit card can be authorized through our website or by telephone.

  • Regular monthly contributions can be made from a bank account by electronic funds transfer.

Here are some additional options
Matching gifts: A gift of $125 or more, matched by an employer, will confer Friendship Circle membership.

In-kind donations: Products or services, which have the effect of reducing our operating costs, are beneficial.

Securities: Gifts of marketable securities may mean greater tax savings for donors than gifts of cash. A tax adviser should be consulted.

Questions about gifts may be directed to our Development Director at (303) 751-5772, Ext. 7083.
