Our special events bring together enthusiastic participants who share a bond of compassion for homeless animals and a desire to help them.

Do you love animals and want to help homeless pets find homes? If so, you and your friends can join together to fundraise and have a lot of fun along the way!

Host an event

Golf tournament, art show, doggie pool party—these are just a few examples of how you can have fun and support the Dumb Friends League at the same time.

Get started with these simple steps:

  1. Event plan – Determine the kind of fundraiser you want to have.
  2. Event guidelines – Download and review the Event Guidelines.
  3. Apply – Fill out the online Event Application or printable application. The information you provide helps us offer tips or suggestions for your event. We’ll respond to your request within one week of submitting the application to discuss the next steps.
  4. Promote your event – Set up a personal fundraising page for an easy way to communicate with and organize your guests and their donations. Personal fundraising Web pages allow you to take credit card donations directly through your page, provide your guests with details about the event and email your contacts using customizable email templates!

Attend an event

Attend one of our major fundraising events throughout the year—such as the Furry Scurry dog walk in Denver or the Wag `n Trail dog hike in Castle Rock—and collect donations for homeless pets at the Dumb Friends League. Participate as an individual, or form a team with your friends! As a team, you can join forces to raise more money for the Dumb Friends League, receive great team-only incentive items and have even more fun at these popular community events.
