"Rumor" is a 3-year-old cockatiel who was adopted from the Dumb Friends League. She is very friendly and loves to ride on my shoulder so she can see what is going on. She also likes lots of attention and loves to have her neck rubbed. When I come home she screeches until I take her out of her cage, talk to her and give her a little scratch.

She eats special cockatiel food from the pet store, but also needs a variety of fruits and vegetables to stay looking and feeling good. She has fresh food and water at all times. Her favorites are corn and peas. She also loves to munch on corn flakes and other breakfast cereals.

Cockatiels are very curious and active birds.They need many things to do so they don't get bored. Rumor has lots of toys and things to nibble on in her cage. She also has a cockatiel friend named "Licorice." She gets time outside of her cage everyday to stretch her wings. She likes to sit on the top of her cage and flap her wings and eat her veggies.

Rumor needs her cage cleaned every week. It is very important for her cage, perches and dishes to be kept very clean so she will stay healthy and happy. She is very easy to care for, but still needs lots of time and love.
