The Dumb Friends League has a history of service. For more than 100 years, we have sheltered and cared for lost, abandoned and abused pets.

Thanks to wide community support, we offer programs that help both pets and people.

We are proud to be the metro-Denver area’s local humane society. You are invited to visit our website and our two shelters to learn more about us.

The Quebec Street shelter dog intake is currently closed to stray dogs. We are accepting owner relinquished dogs and cats. Click here for more information.

Surrender a Pet

We understand that despite your best efforts, it sometimes becomes necessary to give up a pet. We are here to help you in those difficult situations and work with you to ensure the best possible solution for you and your pet.

Types of pets we accept
The Dumb Friends League is an open-admission facility that serves all people and pets. No animal is turned away. However, we are not equipped to shelter livestock, reptiles, wild animals or other exotic pets. For information on where to take these animals, please call us at (303) 751-5772.
