Estate Planning for Women
On Nov. 5, we’re partnering with Rocky Mountain PBS to present this free seminar on the unique challenges and opportunities women face when planning their estate. Regardless of age or marital status, women, on average, live longer, earn less over their lifetimes and carry more of the family care-taking responsibilities than men. Whether your estate plans include a partner or not, this seminar speaks directly to the sensitive issues women face and the tools available to protect dignity and legacy. Our speakers are Mary Rolsch and Jeff Kadavy, trust officers with MidFirst Bank (formerly Steele Street Bank & Trust).

Community Comes Together to Hike for Homeless Pets
Animal lovers from across metro Denver hit the Glendale Farm Open Space trail on Saturday for the Dumb Friends League Wag `n Trail. More than 1,500 people and 750 dogs participated in the fundraiser, a 1.6-mile hike to raise money for the Dumb Friends League’s south location, the Buddy Center, in Castle Rock.

Lulu’s Barkin’ BBQ Raises Nearly $800,000 for Homeless Pets
Generous local and out-of-town guests donated nearly $800,000 to help provide programs and services for homeless animals at the Dumb Friends League Buddy Center and the Dumb Friends League Harmony Equine Center™ at our signature summer fundraiser, Lulu’s Barkin’ BBQ, on Saturday, Aug. 15.

The Furry Scurry Raises $925,000 for Homeless Pets

Minnie, the Miracle Dog
Minnie was a tiny, 10-year-old Chihuahua who came to the Dumb Friends League with a severe heart murmur and a skin condition that caused her to lose most of her hair. Despite her prognosis, we were determined to find Minnie a home, so we placed her in our Adoption Outreach program, which matches special-needs pets with special people.

The Dumb Friends League Furry Scurry dog walk will return to Washington Park for its 22nd year on Saturday, May 2. This Fido-friendly Colorado classic brings together thousands of pets and people for one common goal—to help homeless animals in our community.
