A Changing of the guard

After six years of service to the League, Humane Education Manager Kelsey San Buenaventura has left the organization. Kelsey, her husband and their baby daughter have moved back east to be closer to their families. Although we are sad to see her go, we wish her Kelsey and her family all the best in their new home!

We have hired a new humane education manager. Amanda Kludasch joined the team on August 10. Amanda spent three years at Foothills Animal Shelter working in outreach, communications and development and the past four years as the education and outreach coordinator at the Denver Zoo.

Says Amanda, “I made a shift from the Zoo to the Dumb Friends League because I got my Masters in zoology with an emphasis on animal advocacy education. I missed the animal welfare world (I was at another shelter before the Zoo) and wanted to come back to it with a new lens of passion and education.” Welcome, Amanda!
