Feline fans prove that Colorado cats count!

On Saturday, July 8, 2017, feline fans of all ages descended upon the Dumb Friends League Quebec Street Shelter for the ninth annual CatFest, an event created with the goal of increasing cat adoptions and enhancing the value of cats in our community.

Increase cat adoptions—check. Our goal was to adopt out 175 cats and kittens during the week of CatFest. Thanks to the amazing support of Colorado cat lovers, we were able to find loving, forever homes for 228 cats and kittens, with 72 adopted on Saturday alone.

Enhance the value of cats in our community—check. From the crowd of 1,500 cat enthusiasts who enjoyed training demonstrations, received advice from veterinarians and behavior experts, and (of course) met dozens of adoptable cats and kittens, to the fabulous feline-inspired vendors and sponsors, support and love for kitties in our community was not in short supply.

It was a fun day to celebrate all things feline—some might even say it was purr-fect!
