Missing leg doesn’t pester Chester

Chester

Adopting a 2-year-old dog with a recently amputated leg wasn’t too out of line for us since we just spent three months helping our 7-year-old dog, Juicy, recuperate from ACL surgery. We figured that experience would be helpful. It’s only been three weeks, and Chester (named by my husband after the “Gunsmoke” character that had a bad leg) has been beautifully on the rebound. Actually, we don’t think he realizes he is missing a leg; his energy and ability to move quickly up and down the stairs is tremendous. Juicy puts up with her lively, young friend, and we secretly think that she enjoys having this little fella. We sure do!
