VIP Summer 2017: Jasmin’s Update

Jasmin Summer 2017

We hope that you’ll join us for CatFest coming up on July 8 at the Quebec Street Shelter and for the 13th annual Wag `n Trail on Sept. 16. This fundraiser includes a hike for you and your hound at Glendale Farm Open Space, conveniently located near I-25 and Surrey Ridge, just north of Castle Rock.

Get some exercise with your pooch while you enjoy the beautiful 1.6-mile trail that sits right beside a five-acre, off-leash dog park. While hiking, get your dog’s photo taken with the Front Range as your backdrop. Then get some ice cream for you and your furry friend to enjoy as you descend the trail. After the hike, watch dog demonstrations, enjoy food and snacks, and shop for pet-related merchandise.

The festivities run from 8 a.m. to noon with no specific start time, so come when it’s convenient for you. The registration fee is $50, for which you receive a wrist band that gets you ice cream for you and your dog, a photo, a dog treat and a beer or root beer at our beer garden. If you raise $75 (just $25 more) you’ll receive an event T-shirt. The more money you raise, the more incentives you’ll receive . . . and most important, the more homeless pets you’ll help!

It’s also summertime, which means summer picnics! We hope you will be able to join us at noon at one of the dates below (all volunteers can attend picnics at either location) for burgers (meat and veggie) and good conversation with fellow volunteers and staff:

Quebec:
• Tuesday, July 11
• Thursday, August 10

Buddy Center:
• Wednesday, July 12

Thank you for all you do to help the animals! Let the summer begin!
