Thank you for your interest in supporting the Dumb Friends
League through our corporate sponsorships. Listed below are the events
that the League hosts annually to raise funds for the animals in our care.
Each of our sponsorship packages contains the opportunity for visibility
within the community, recognition on all event collateral and paraphernalia,
and media exposure. We would be happy to discuss the ability to create
greater benefit for your company before and during any of our events through
online or sales promotions, hospitality options and distribution of promotional
materials. We will tailor our sponsorship packages to align this investment
with your company's goals for the coming fiscal year. To discuss any opportunities
that interest you, please contact Melissa Nguyen at (720) 241-7082 or
mnguyen@ddfl.org.
The Pledges for Pets Telethon is a four-hour pledge event, which
airs on KTVD-FOX31 and is normally scheduled for the last
weekend in January. The telethon offers the viewing audience, the
majority of whom are women ages 25 to 54 in the upper-income bracket,
a chance to see the behind-the-scenes life in the shelter, learn
about the various departments in the League and give to a worthy
cause. We interview our experts in pet-ownership basics, grooming
and behavior, highlight successful adoption stories and introduce
animals that are currently looking for loving homes.
For the ninth year in a row, the League will raise
money to support the work it is doing in the Rocky Mountain region
and promote community awareness about the services it offers. In
a year's time, more than 25,000 lost and unwanted pets come to
the Dumb Friends League; this is our chance to reach out to the
community and ask for their support.
Sponsorships of the 2008 Pledges for Pets Telethon
must be committed one month prior to the event. The earlier the
commitment, the more opportunities there are for visibility in our
publicity materials. We have a variety of sponsorship levels available,
including Tote Board, Hourly, Set, Matching Gift, Video and Adoption
sponsorships.
This annual, two-mile walk and fun run that welcomes dogs and their
humans is held the first Saturday in May at Denver's Washington
Park. This is the League's largest annual fund raiser. Each year more than
6,000 people and 5,000 dogs registered for the event and
raisefunds for the animals in our care. Furry Scurry participants
enjoy refreshments, contests, demonstrations, a fanfare of animal-related
booths, and other goodies. The annual Furry Scurry is an ideal
event to promote brand recognition for your company and to communicate
with a target audience of affluent families in the Denver metro
area.
Sponsorships of the May 3, 2008 Furry Scurry must be committed
by January 31. There are different levels of sponsorship to choose
from depending upon the amount of visibility you are trying to achieve.
Additionally, a company can choose to support the Furry Scurry by
forming a corporate team. Along with a discounted price per person,
the company will also benefit from the team building and the increased
visibility within the community that this event provides.
The Wags & Purrs Adopt-a-thon is a two-day event with extended hours at
both of our shelters so that we may increase the number of animals
adopted. This event encourages families and individuals to visit
the shelter and adopt a new pet.
Each adopter goes home with a commemorative T-shirt, pet toys and
treats. This is a great opportunity for sponsors to promote their
company or one of their products to a targeted group of new pet
owners.
Each year in December, the League asks individuals and organizations
to remember the lost and homeless pets in our care. This month-long
supply and fund drive usually provides us with enough inventory
to help the animals for much of the following year.
The fact is that the animals at both of the League's
shelters need these items all year long. We would appreciate it
if this list was distributed to employees through newsletters, paychecks,
bulletin boards or e-mails. By contributing one or more of the following
items - or making a monetary donation - organizations will make
a difference to many puppies, kittens, adult dogs and cats and other
small pets.

The Pet Care-avan is the Dumb Friends League's
mobile adoption vehicle. The Care-avan, which is 27 feet in length,
10 feet wide, and 10 feet high, is a self-contained unit with kennel
space for up to 11 animals. In addition to giving the animals extra
exposure and increasing their chances of adoption, the Care-avan
provides an opportunity to generate more awareness of the League's
programs and services in the community. We bring our Pet Care-avan
to events that attract crowds of people, such as People's Fair,
Pride Fest, the Denver Business Expo, sporting events and store
grand openings.
In exchange for an annual sponsorship, your company's
logo will be displayed on the front and on both sides of the Care-avan.
Additionally, your company brochures or promotional literature will
be on the counter inside the Care-avan, a table banner with your
company's name and/or logo will be used outside the Care-avan when
appropriate and there will be a link to your Web site from our online
Care-avan schedule.
We are a private nonprofit organization. We spend an average of $300 on every animal adopted, over and above the fee paid by the patron. If you would like to help us, you can click here to make a secure online donation or print out a donation form and mail or fax it to us.
The Dumb Friends League respects the privacy of its donors. We do not sell or exchange any individual donor information. For details on our privacy policy, click here.
