I wish you could see Honey’s big brown eyes and hear the joy in her playful bark. Not long ago she wasn’t so happy . . . A passerby found Honey lying by the side of the road. Her right front leg was broken. She could barely breathe. Time was running out . . . She had been hit by a car and left to suffer, and perhaps to die, completely alone there on the side of the road. Can you imagine her pain—her broken heart? The kind passerby rushed Honey to our shelter, where our staff provided immediate care and we began searching for her family. We whispered gently to her and stroked her head as Honey received critical first aid. Thanks to caring friends who support the Dumb Friends League, we gave Honey a new chance in life! I’m happy to report that after surgery to repair her leg and medicine to cure her respiratory infection, Honey has a new home with a loving family. They named her Honey because she has such a sweet and happy disposition. I’m sharing Honey’s story with you because I’m hoping you’ll help the Dumb Friends League come to the aid of more animals like her. So many pets come to us each year—many of them sick, injured and desperately in need of tender loving care. The love we give is free and comes from the heart. But the shelter, the veterinary care and daily supplies cost money. We need your support to ensure that we can continue our work on behalf of homeless and helpless pets. Your tax-deductible gift will help provide: Think of Honey . . . and her big brown eyes . . . and let your heart be touched by the needs of precious animals like her here in our community. Then send your most generous gift today—because these wonderful pets are relying on you. Please give them your love today. Warmest Regards, Robert D. Rohde, President
