The Dumb Friends League has a history of service. For more than 100 years, we have sheltered and cared for lost, abandoned and abused pets.

Thanks to wide community support, we offer programs that help both pets and people.

We are proud to be the metro-Denver area’s local humane society. You are invited to visit our website and our two shelters to learn more about us.

Host an event for the
Dumb Friends League

Thank you for your interest in hosting an event to benefit the Dumb Friends League. Last year $60,000 was raised by people like you who hosted their own events. All money raised for the Dumb Friends League is used to directly support and benefit homeless pets.

Please review the information provided here and do not hesitate to contact our special events coordinator, Kristin Speros, at ksperos@ddfl.org or (720) 241-7126, with any questions.

Getting Started

  1. Consider what kind of fundraiser you would like to have. Now is the time to outline exactly what your event will look like and the budget you will need to execute it. Be as creative as you like. Some fun ideas include:
    • animal-themed gala
    • golf tournament
    • art sale
    • pool party for dogs
    • bar crawl
    • percentage of sales from a restaurant or other company

  3. Fill out the online Event Application or printable application. After you have decided the details of your event, share it with us. The information you provide helps us offer any tips or suggestions.
  4. Get approval for your event. We will respond to your request within one week of submitting the application to discuss the next steps.
