Our commitment to ending animal suffering is essential to our mission. When the call from law enforcement came to protect over 70 horses’ lives just weeks after we rescued nearly 100 cats from deplorable living conditions, we were ready to organize and act on their behalf.
Working with our compassionate community, we will end pet homelessness and animal suffering.

One horse was bleeding from the hooves. More than half of the herd were shoeless, unable to walk without pain due to severely overgrown and infected hooves requiring urgent farrier care. The veterinary team set to work to treat abscesses left to fester and traumatic eye injuries that needed immediate medical attention.
Humane Colorado has a diverse range of adoptable animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, and horses. Each animal receives necessary medical care, behavior evaluations, and enrichment to prepare them for a successful transition into a loving family.
Humane Colorado offers a variety of volunteer opportunities to suit different interests and skills. Volunteering provides a rewarding experience for individuals while helping the organization care for animals in need.
