Kristin Elliott

Director of Animal Experience

Kristin Elliott’s love of all animals began as a child. Her family rescued pets, bottle-fed cats, and her compassion toward animals was nurtured and continued to thrive throughout her life.

Kristin and her family lived not far from the Dumb Friends League, and as far back as she can remember, the League was a part of her life. The League even played a role in her 10th birthday when she received her requested gift of birds. The two parakeets turned out to be on the independent side, bonded with each other and didn’t necessarily care for human interaction. Still, Kristin knew she wanted to be a part of the organization someday.

“Someday” came for Kristin after returning to Colorado following school in California and fulfilling the role as a training and behavior manager at a boarding facility in Castle Rock. Kristin’s career at the League began as an evaluation coordinator, and throughout her almost nine years here, she moved through the organization as a customer care supervisor, customer care associate manager, pet admissions manager, adoptions manager and transfer manager. Today, Kristin is the Director of Animal Experience.

In her new role, Kristin is excited for the Operations team to define core values specific to them, as well as empower the team to think creatively and outside the box when implementing the organization’s core values in their day-to-day work.

Kristin lives with her husband, daughter, four cats and a dog, Fern, who is her faithful and always ready for a pet, office companion. In her (limited) free time, Kristin enjoys spending time with her family, being outside and hiking.
