Host an event

Golf tournament, art show, doggie pool party—these are just a few examples of how you can have fun and support the Dumb Friends League at the same time.

Get started with these simple steps:

  1. Event plan – Determine the kind of fundraiser you want to have.
  2. Event guidelines – Download and review the Event Guidelines.
  3. Apply – Fill out the online Event Application or printable application. The information you provide helps us offer tips or suggestions for your event. We’ll respond to your request within one week of submitting the application to discuss the next steps.
  4. Promote your event – Set up a personal fundraising page for an easy way to communicate with and organize your guests and their donations. Personal fundraising Web pages allow you to take credit card donations directly through your page, provide your guests with details about the event and email your contacts using customizable email templates!

Donate a percentage of profits

Donating a percentage of the proceeds of your business profits is a powerful way to let your customers know that you support your community by giving back to local charities.

Get started with these simple steps:

  1. Apply – Fill out the Corporate Support Application. We will respond to your request within one week of submitting the form to discuss the next steps.
  2. Promote your giving – Approved companies will be provided with the official Dumb Friends League logo for use in your promotional materials. Give Back Partners that commit to ongoing monthly giving are listed on the Dumb Friends League website.

Other fundraising opportunities

Employee-giving platform – Implementing an internal employee-giving platform allows employees to support the causes that are near and dear to their hearts and is a meaningful way to convey employee appreciation.

Host a themed work day – Allow employees to “Bring Your Dog to Work” or have a “Jeans Day” that they can earn by making a gift.

Matching gifts – Match gifts made by employees. There’s no definitive way to set up a matching-gifts program; each company has its own unique process. However, we’re happy to help in any way we can and share how this program has been successful at other businesses.
