Minnie, the Miracle Dog
Minnie was a tiny, 10-year-old Chihuahua who came to the Dumb Friends League with a severe heart murmur and a skin condition that caused her to lose most of her hair. Despite her prognosis, we were determined to find Minnie a home, so we placed her in our Adoption Outreach program, which matches special-needs pets with special people.
Dumb Friends League Furry Scurry Dog Walk
The Dumb Friends League Furry Scurry dog walk will return to Washington Park for its 22nd year on Saturday, May 2. This Fido-friendly Colorado classic brings together thousands of pets and people for one common goal—to help homeless animals in our community.
Spring Break Critter Camp
Do you know a kid that’s compassionate for critters? Register today for our spring Critter Camp at the Dumb Friends League! This fun and educational one-day camp is designed for children in 3rd through 6th grade and teaches lessons of compassion, respect and responsibility for animals.
Spay it Forward
To celebrate World Spay Day on Feb. 24, the Dumb Friends League partnered with the Colorado Animal Welfare League to offer free cat spay/neuter surgeries through our mobile clinics. In total, 72 cats were spayed or neutered during the one-day event—preventing thousands of unwanted litters in our community!
Dumb Friends League Offers Free Cat Spay/Neuter Clinics in Honor of World Spay Day
In honor of World Spay Day, the Dumb Friends League is offering free cat spay and neuter surgeries through its mobile clinics on Tuesday, Feb. 24 at the Northglenn Recreation Center.
New Dumb Friends League Adoption Center Opens at Petco
The Dumb Friends League has partnered with Petco and the Petco Foundation to open a new adoption center at Petco’s busiest metro-area location at the intersection of Colorado Blvd. and Mexico Ave. in Denver. A grand opening celebration will be held on Sat., Feb. 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This will be Petco’s first full-service adoption center in Colorado.
Compassion, Pledges Help Homeless Pets During Dumb Friends League Telethon
Hundreds of compassionate viewers pledged their support on Sunday, Jan. 25, during the 17th annual Pledges for Pets Telethon. The event raised more than $276,000 (and counting) to help homeless pets and horses at the Dumb Friends League. Fundraising continues through Feb. 9.
