Who Will Choose You?
Sometimes, our pets have a way of choosing us rather than the other way around. It’s a common belief that we hear from a great many adopters who have visited our shelters. A longing look into your eyes…a tiny paw up on the kennel glass…an incessantly wagging tail that makes you smile—while that special connection may come in many different forms, our adopters agree when they tell us, “My pet chose me.”
Recognizing Our Volunteers
In honor of National Volunteer Week, we want to recognize all of our incredible volunteers, who work tirelessly on behalf of the homeless pets and horses at our shelters every day. We couldn’t do our lifesaving work without the help of more than 1,300 compassionate volunteers who are involved in every aspect of our organization.
Minnie, the Miracle Dog
Minnie was a tiny, 10-year-old Chihuahua who came to the Dumb Friends League with a severe heart murmur and a skin condition that caused her to lose most of her hair. Despite her prognosis, we were determined to find Minnie a home, so we placed her in our Adoption Outreach program, which matches special-needs pets with special people.
Dumb Friends League Furry Scurry Dog Walk
The Dumb Friends League Furry Scurry dog walk will return to Washington Park for its 22nd year on Saturday, May 2. This Fido-friendly Colorado classic brings together thousands of pets and people for one common goal—to help homeless animals in our community.
