Celebrating 26 years of helping homeless pets and horses at the Furry Scurry

Denver finally left winter behind (we hope!), and a gorgeous spring day welcomed participants to the Dumb Friends League’s largest fundraiser, the 26th annual Furry Scurry, on May 4 at Washington Park.

There was plenty of furry, and so much scurry as more than 5,000 canines of all shapes, ages breeds and sizes, decked out in their finest collars and attire, along with 10,000 humans, came out for the largest single dog walk in the country.

In addition to the two-mile walk and fun run, pet lovers watched and participated in dog contests and demos, met adoptable pets, enjoyed food from local food trucks and shopped for pet-friendly goods and services at the Flea-less Market.

Thanks to the generous support of everyone who registered, donated and raised pledges, as well as our sponsors, $720,000 and counting was raised for programs and services to help homeless pets and horses at the Dumb Friends League. And, a special thank you to Colorado’s First Gentleman, Marlon Reis, for being this year’s Furry Scurry grand marshal.

Pet lovers can still help homeless animals and earn fundraising incentives by donating through June 4 at click here to share your story!
