A tale of teeth.
Christopher Robin found himself at the Dumb Friends League after his owner was no longer able to care for him. This adorably tiny dog was in the market for a new adventure partner, a new confidant, a new best friend – his new Winnie-the-Pooh. But, before his new story could begin, he had to finish the previous one.
Christopher Robin’s arrival at the Dumb Friends League started the same as many others. He was welcomed by staff and volunteers, and it was immediately clear that he had a personality fit for his name, greeting everyone he met with a wagging tail and attempts at dog kisses. Everything was in order for this little 3.5-pound dog to start his new chapter in life, everything except one big thing. Before we could start to re-write Christopher Robin’s future we needed to help alleviate the pain and discomfort associated with the severe dental disease he was experiencing. Simply put – he needed a dental and he needed it soon. His teeth and gums were in such horrible condition that he struggled to eat, causing the already small pup to be underweight.
So, a dental is what he got. At 12-years-old he joined the club of the more than 2,000 animals that receive dental cleaning at the Dumb Friends League every year. The procedure went as planned and our little friend recovered. Several teeth less, he was ready to embark on his latest adventure – finding his new home.
It came as no surprise that the wirey little dog with an affectionate personality, quickly found his happily-ever-after. Christopher Robin is now relaxing comfortably in his new home with fewer teeth, less pain and a happier heart, it’s the story book ending we all hoped for.
