Have you got time for Beatrice?

Beatrice first came to the Dumb Friends League as an adorable, albeit hissy, kitten in 2007. Over the last decade, this affectionate cat has been in multiple homes, each time finding herself back at the shelter just waiting for the right family.

Beatrice is a great cat. Her sweet, quiet and well-mannered traits are the perfect recipe for a wonderful feline companion and we know that when she meets her match that will be that. It’s important to know that Beatrice is shy and may take some time to warm to her new family. Yes, she might hide initially and no you shouldn’t take this personally. With time and patience, you will be rewarded with an affectionate cat who seeks you out for pets and is the perfect excuse to binge watch your favorite Netflix series while she snuggles by your side.

We’ve learned a lot about Beatrice since she arrived back at the shelter this January. We know she loves treats and enjoys being brushed. Although not overly enthusiastic about play, she can eventually be convinced to humor your attempts for a few minutes before curling up in her cozy bed where she will nap off those fleeting minutes of capturing whatever taunted her from the end of the string toy you desperately waived in front of her face.

In addition to her above-mentioned charming characteristics, it’s important that we also discuss a few housekeeping items relating to this sweet lady. First, she has a bit of a mixed history with cats in her previous homes and because of this, we think she’d do best in an environment where she can be the center of your attention as an only cat. Also, she has a bit of a limp on her back-right leg due to a medially luxating patella (or kneecap). She’s okay now but this condition may require medical attention in the future. None of this should scare you away, this sweet girl is well worth it. She is a skilled snuggler and your love will be rewarded with stretched out paws asking for pets and an irresistible purr thanking you for simply giving her your time.

So, come on down, give this girl a visit. We’d love to tell you more about Beatrice and see if she might be the feline companion you’ve been waiting for. She is available at our Quebec Street Shelter in Denver and is ready to be adopted today.
