Hike for homeless pets in the newest Dumb Friends League event

Elevate the lives homeless pets and horses in the Dumb Friends League’s inaugural Peaks for Pets hiking challenge. Participants will explore the mountains in this brand new, virtual event while helping homeless pets – it doesn’t get much more beautiful than that!

The challenge is simple. Rack up vertical feet during the month of September to earn incentive items as you climb – all while helping support the care of animals at the League.

Four-legged hiking companions are invited along for your adventures or they can sit on the sidelines during more technical treks. No matter if you have a dog or hike solo, your elevation gains will count.

Participants are encouraged to take part in exciting weekend challenges and share photos of their adventures using #PeaksforPets or tagging the Dumb Friends League on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.

“This new event is a fun way for our community to support homeless pets and horses while remaining socially distanced,” said Dr. Apryl Steele, president and CEO of the Dumb Friends League. “In addition to raising money for animals in need, Peaks for Pets will help raise awareness about the vital programs and services we provide to pets and people throughout Colorado.”

Participants have the entire month of September to compete against fellow hikers and will receive an exclusive event t-shirt with their registrations. Watch for weekend challenges, learn about dog friendly hikes and so much more!
