On Saturday, August 19, 2017, Jana and Fred Bartlit hosted the 16th annual Lulu’s BBQ to benefit homeless pets and horses at the Dumb Friends League.
The Bartlits welcomed 530 guests to their home in Castle Pines, Colo. for an evening of good food and good music all for a good cause.
The evening included cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, a gourmet barbecue dinner by Chef Tom Perini of Perini Ranch Steakhouse in Buffalo Gap, Texas, silent and live auctions, a chance to mingle with adorable adoptable pets and a private concert by Grammy-award-winning artist Seal.
The event raised close to $1.5 million to help provide veterinary care, behavior training and other critical services for homeless pets and horses in the Dumb Friends League’s care.
Jana and Fred Bartlit are long-time, generous supporters of the Dumb Friends League. The Bartlits continue to make a tremendous difference for homeless pets through Jana’s service as a lifetime member of the board of directors, their ongoing philanthropy, and their funding of the Lulu Mobile, a traveling spay/neuter clinic for cats and dogs in underserved communities.
