Our featured performers –
Alabama native and stand-up comedian Derrick Stroup is not your average slow talking Southerner. With the cadence of a (very) enthusiastic off auctioneer, he locks people in with his detailed stories and over the top energy. He started doing comedy eight years ago in Jacksonville, Alabama. Derrick’s start in comedy is far from the norm. He put himself up at the local bar he ran and would entertain the patrons for up to an hour with unpolished, from the hip comedy. His angry rants and silly mishaps eventually gained local attention, and his bi-monthly comedy show was born. He did this for several years until he decided to chase his comedy dream out West. Derrick moved to Denver, Colorado in 2015 and has never looked back. Since then he has become a regular at several clubs here, and his unique brand of angry “Southern Comedy” is starting to gain him some national recognition as well. Recently, he was the winner of the New Faces Competition at the world famous Comedy Works in downtown Denver, which has more than 200 entries each year. Derrick tours the South regularly and has opened for Frank Caliendo, Ron White and Josh Blue to name a few. Derrick loves a Waffle House that’s clean and cares about its customers.
Norton consistently receives five star reviews from clubs and corporate clients by knowing her audience and connecting with universal truths through her intuitive, engaging style!
Nancy delivers shows that are high energy, fast-paced and hilarious.
She tours nationally headlining clubs, festivals, conferences and events. She toured internationally on several USO tours to Europe, Asia, Iceland and the Pacific. Nancy draws from a lifetime of experience. She is a single mom who worked many years as a registered nurse and shares hilarious healthcare anecdotes that will leave you in stitches and wanting to STAY WELL.
Nancy has been a regular headliner at Comedy Works in Denver since 1992 and has been featured on a variety of TV showcases: currently on Amazon Prime Video, previously on “Evening at the Improv” on A & E, Nickmom Night Out on Nickelodeon, and in her one-woman show, “The Yellowish-Green Girl” on PBS.
Nancy inspires people to have a better life through laughter with her Keynote, “The Power of Humor: Laugh and Grow Rich!” which is often paired with her Improv Team Building Workshops, entitled: “Practicing Playful Presence”.
Nancy Norton lives in Colorado and balances comedy, speaking and workshop engagements with writing, producing shows, podcasts and being a single mom to her active and creative teenage son. Nancy adopted her son as an infant in Kathmandu, Nepal in 2005 — a magical journey of a mother and child meant to be together that would not have had a happy ending without the help of humor.
