Declaring 2020 as an interesting year is probably the understatement of the century. But, despite all that has happened, we have witnessed several bright moments at the Dumb Friends League. Perhaps the one the shines the most is the passing of Denver’s ballot measure 2J in the November election.
As you’re likely aware, the passing of this measure amended the 30-plus year drought of our best blocky head buddies, also known as pit bulls, allowing them to finally reside in Denver legally.
This change, met with tears of joy and lots of tail wags from the staff and dogs at the League, doesn’t come without some provisions. For example, owners will need to apply for a breed-restricted permit in the City and County of Denver and follow other requirements. You can learn more about exactly what this means in this FAQ sheet from our friends at Denver Animal Shelter. And, don’t worry, we’re here to make sure you are set up for success as you and your new pal walk off into that beautiful Denver sunset together.
You can find information on Denver pit bull adoptions in this packet.
To celebrate this occasion, we are hosting a party – a Pittie Party— and offering 50 percent off adoption fees for pit bulls one-year-old and older from January 11 – 15. Pit bull adopters will also receive a rad swag bag that will include a pittie parent t-shirt, KONG toy and treats from Hill’s Pet Nutrition.
