When Urania walked into our shelter 13 years ago looking for a new companion, she knew immediately that she had found the dog for her.
At the time, the 2-year-old Lab mix weighed less than 40 pounds. He’d had a hard life, and he was Urania’s very first dog. So after she took him home, Urania says she “spoiled him royally.”
Thirteen years later, Toby the Lab is a healthy 80 pounds. He’s followed Urania through every part of her life, from his adoption in Colorado to Montana and, ultimately, Washington state.
“He’s been the greatest dog, and I am so grateful we adopted him all those years ago,” Urania said about a lifetime of love with Toby. “He has changed our lives for the better and made all of us so happy. He’s no longer hiking mountains, but he still loves to go everywhere with us.”
When you adopt a pet like Toby, you’re making a huge difference in the life of a homeless pet—and we couldn’t save thousands of them each year without you!
