Sometimes, the third time is the charm. Tigger was relinquished to the Dumb Friends League twice due to soiling issues. He was fearful and tense and initially hissed and swatted away hands instead of accepting pets. Our team determined that Tigger would benefit from one of our behavior programs. After six sessions, Tigger was relaxed, friendly, allowed pets all over his body and even got up to greet visitors. Tigger was ready to find a new family.
Our behavior team recommended Tigger live in a quiet home with no other pets or young children, and in December, he found his perfect family. Tigger now spends his days with an older couple that live at a slower speed, and he mingles with his humans intermittently but is content to spend time alone as well. Tigger’s new mom even joked that his naptime lines right up with theirs!
Tigger is excellent at using his litter box, and he enjoys watching the house from the top of the refrigerator and keeping an eye on the outdoors from the fuzzy blankets he has rolled up on every windowsill in the house. Tigger’s family couldn’t be happier with how this love has settled into his fur-ever home.
