The Valley Humane League is a full service animal shelter which is operated by the Dumb Friends League. The shelter offers adoptions, sheltering of homeless pets, lost and found, and a spay/neuter program.

Adoption Process

If you see or hear about a dog that you think would be a good fit for your home, please contact us immediately. We often transfer dogs to other shelters, so call us or stop in as soon as possible for a chance to meet the pup!

Pet Admissions

We are an open admission shelter however, when our population increases to maximum care capacity, we will manage owner relinquishments. There is currently no charge to bring a pet to our shelter.

Community Resources

Colorado Pet Pantry – If you need help providing food for your pet, please visit and fill out the application. The pet food pantry takes place on the last Monday of every month. Recipients must provide proof of address and proof their pet(s) have been spayed or neutered. We are able to help feed up to four pets.
